Dr. Angela Kerchner - My Story
All my life I have been one of those people who does not quite fit into any certain category. As a kid I hoped to grow up to create animation films with Walt Disney.
When computers completely took over the industry just as I was going into college, that dream was squashed. I finished my art degree despite a change of emphasis, and those creative years were some of the most enjoyable time of my life.
I appreciate an adventure, traveling to new places, being creative, and finding new and better ways to do things. When I decided to head to medical school, no one let me in on the fact that medicine is not a career path that often fosters a great deal of creativity.
The U.S. healthcare situation could use some help, and I am a creative problem-solver by nature. I am learning each and every day to combine my education and years of experience with patients together with my creative side, which is why I created Next Chapter in Health for you.
The main reason I do what I do today is because I hope to create meaningful and lasting change for those I serve. In short, I want to help you.
In the vast majority of places in the U.S., patients who are in pain or suffering from an illness have to choose between receiving care from the conventional system or seeking help from what we used to call, "alternative," medicine. Rarely do these healers work together and the cost of using one, let alone both is often daunting, even in an age when more Americans are insured than in any other time in history. For those who choose to spend valuable dollars on using both types of care, advice and recommendations are often conflicting, sometimes to the point of making a patient feel ashamed of their choices, leaving them in a position where they don't know what to do or worse, who to trust.
I hope I can help to bring information to people who would like to enjoy the best of both worlds. Most of us have choices when it comes to the way we live our lives. I want to help as many people as I can turn to their Next Chapter in Health, where they are the center of attention.
